Designing data centers that look like houses so that they can be integrated into more densely residential-zoned areas? Don’t know whether or not I see the trend catching on – security and traffic are chief among my concerns – but definitely an interesting, outside-the-box idea.

Check out this article from Citybizlist.com on how and why companies are investing in data centers. The article presents some great statics and facts drawn from a recent survey by CoreNet Global and Newmark Knight Frank. Among some of the most interesting statistics:

Nearly one-fourth (24%) of companies do not use the Cloud at all
Only 5% rate LEED-certified centers as a top criterion for data center site selection
Very few companies (6%) currently outsource their entire data center computing to the Cloud

Project Manager:The position will provide management of various construction projects ($500K – $10M). This includes being a member of the project team for management of the design and construction teams as well as communication and coordination with cross-functional, internal project teams.
